TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 1-0 Borussia Dortmund – Match reaction

Hoffenheim defeat champions Borussia Dortmund 1-0. What were the sides' reaction to the result.

Holger Stanislawski: It was really important to see how we came back from the defeat to Hannover last week. We have invested a lot in the team, and that's probably more important than three points. But of course, I'm delighted for the boys that all their hard work for 90 minutes paid off.

Jürgen Klopp: I think we could have won the game, but we created too many difficulties for ourselves. However, the victory for them isn't undeserved. They played aggressively and with discipline for the full 90 minutes. In the end the game was decided by a superb piece of skill.

Dietmar Hopp: I congratulate the team because nobody would have predicted this win. If you play with a lot of passion you can beat the champions, but you do need a bit of luck too.

Tom Starke: It's a great feeling to get three points in our first home match of the season. Last season we lacked some passion I think, but the fans and the manager have brought that back. The fans were magnificent today. I'm proud that we beat the champions and kept a clean sheet as well.

Andreas Beck: What you saw from us was really good today. We put in a lot of effort and got our rewards. The win will do us good because a loss would have meant a lot of pressure on us getting a result in Augsburg.
