Obasi suffers ankle injury

Hoffenheim forward Chinedu Obasi will miss the club's remaining fixtures before the winter break.

The Nigerian suffered ligament damage and bruising to his right ankle after a robust challenge in training. A scan yesterday confirmed the extent of the injury, meaning Obasi now faces a three-week lay-off. Manager Holger Stanisölawski will have to do without him for league games against 1. FC Nürnberg and Hertha Berlin, as well as the German Cup match at home to FC Augsburg on December 20th.
