National players ready for action

While some 1899 Hoffenheim players may be able to relax during the international break, others are off to represent their countries. 11 players in total have been called up for international duty and here's what awaits them:

"All or nothing" for Bosnia Herzegovina
UEFA Euro 2012: Bosnia Herzegovina vs. Romania - Sat. 26.03, 19:15 in Zenica

Vedad Ibisevic will be part of the Bosnia Herzegovina team looking to get their Euro 2012 qualification bid back on track when they take on Romania. There is a lot at stake for the home side, something that Ibisevic is well aware of: "Only a win would count for us." They currently sit in 4th place in Group D, 5 points behind leaders France. However, manager Safet Sušić will have to do without the suspended Sejad Salihovic.

Croatia on the road
UEFA Euro 2012: Georgia vs. Croatia - Sat. 26.03, 18:00 in Tiflis
Friendly: France vs. Croatia - Tue. 29.03, 19:00 in Paris

Josip Simunic has been called up to the Croatia squad who are looking to exploit the opportunity to take another big step towards qualifying for Euro 2012 as they travel to Georgia. Another three points would keep them in pole position in Group F with nearest rivals Greece currently two points behind them. This is the followed by a trip to Paris on Tuesday, where Simunic and co. will take on the 1998 World Cup champions in a friendly match.

New manager, new tests for Ghana
Africa Cup of Nations: Congo vs. Ghana - Sun. 27.03 in Kinshasa
Friendly: England vs. Ghana - Tue. 29.03, 19:00 in London

Isaac Vorsah and Prince Tagoe have both been included in the Ghana national squad who are clear favourites heading into the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo. A change in personnel has seen Goran Stevanovic take over the managerial role as the Black Stars look to put the disappointing 0-0 draw with Sudan behind them. Unbeaten in two games, Ghana are top of Group I on four points, but will face a much sterner test two days later when they travel to Wembley to take on Fabio Capello's England team in a friendly.

Week of truth for Austria
UEFA Euro 2012: Austria vs. Belgium - Fri. 25.03, 20:30 in Vienna
UEFA Euro 2012: Turkey vs. Austria - Tue. 29.03, 19:30 in Istanbul

FC Bayern München loanee, David Alaba, will also be in international action as he joins up with his Austrian teammates for two make or break matches in Group A. Just five points behind group leaders Germany, with a game in hand, Austria are currently unbeaten, but face two difficult opponents in the form of Belgium and Turkey. If they remain unbeaten against both they will have every hope of qualifying for Euro 2012.

Iceland involved in battle of the underdogs
UEFA Euro 2012: Cyprus vs. Iceland - Sat. 26.03, 19:00 in Nicosia

Gylfi Sigurdsson received a rare call-up to the Icelandic national side as the manager has turned to his U-21 stars for their upcoming match in Cyprus. Iceland are yet to put a point on the board in qualification, but Cyprus have failed to win on each of the four meetings between the two sides. Additionally, the 21-year old has also been included in the Icelandic U-21 squad set to face England in a friendly on two days later.

Two classic match-ups for the U-21's
Friendly: Netherlands vs. Germany - Fri. 25.03, 18:00 in Sittard
Friendly: Germany vs. Italy - Tue. 29.03, 18:00 in Kassel

Sebastian Rudy, Boris Vukcevic and Peniel Mlapa will all be in action with the German U-21 team, as Hoffenheim's youth players continue to break onto the international scene. There set for two classic encounters against two "well-known opponents", as manager Rainer Adrion put it. His aims are clear: "We want to ensure that we are fully prepared for the challenges ahead."

Friendly: Germany vs. Belgium - Fri. 25.03, 18:00 in Völklingen
Friendly: Germany vs. Ukraine - Tue. 29.03, 17:30 in Homburg

Denis Thomalla and the German U-19 squad will go back to the drawing board for a bit of schooling before they get ready to take on Belgium and Ukraine as part of Ralf Minge's plans for his youngsters. Thomalla could make his ninth and tenth appearances for the U-19's and is likely to be joined in the squad by Kevin Volland, currently of 1860 München, but who has agreed a future move to Kraichgau already.

Polish tests awaits U-20's
