Gylfi, welcome to Hoffenheim. What are your first impressions of the training complez in Zuzenhausen?
Thank you. It's fantastic here - probably the best training complex I have ever trained in.
You got 16 goals in 32 games for Reading FC. Quite an impressive haul for a midfielder.
Yes, we had a good time of things last season, even after a slow start. After Christmas we went on an amazing run and I was able to chip in with some goals. Hopefully it will be the same in Hoffenheim.
What's your best position? Behind the strikers?
That's my favourite role. But I am also able to play in other positions in midfield. But, as long as I am playing I don't mind where I play.
What does this move to the Bundesliga mean for you?
It's an important step for me and my development. The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the World, and it will be a great challenge for me to play in this league with Hoffenheim.
Now you're jetting back off to play for your national team. When will you be back to train with your new colleagues?
I think I will be back from international duty on the 8th of September. The day before we're playing Denmark, and then I will head back to Germany.
... and then you'll be in contention for the Schalke game
Possibly. That's down to the manager.
