Positive signs from Vorsah and Obasi

The dramatic events surrounding the Togo national side and the African Cup of Nations in Angola have had a particular resonance for 1899 Hoffenheim. The club have been worried about the well-being of Isaac Vorsah (Ghana) and Chinedu Obasi (Nigeria), both of whom are participating in the competition.

Despite some communication difficulties both players have contacted the club and declared all is well in their respective national team headquarters. Isaac Vorsah, who was to feature in the first game against Togo, has been shocked by the events, but both he and his team mates are currently safe. The same is to be said for Chinedu Obasi, who is representing Nigeria. Both players have been distressed by the events, but are relieved that tournament will continue as planned. They hope, just as every football fan does, that the spotlight can now return to the action on the pitch, rather than off it.
