Short description

Before Thomas Delaney spent several years making his mark in the Bundesliga, he won five Danish championships and four Danish cups with his youth and hometown club FC Copenhagen. The central midfielder, who has a Danish mother and an American father, signed for SV Werder Bremen in January 2017. After a convincing 18-month spell, he then moved on to Borussia Dortmund. During a three-year spell, he made 88 appearances and helped the club to the DFB-Pokal title. In the summer of 2021, he completed a transfer to Spanish side Sevilla. Shortly before the end of the winter transfer window in 2023, Delaney moved to TSG Hoffenheim on loan. In total, the Dane has made more than 300 top-flight appearances, played almost 60 times in the Champions and Europa League, has represented his country more than 70 times, and has played in two World Cups and one European Championship.
