Kevin Akpoguma: "In our situation, this result is very bitter. We did what the coach demanded from us. Both teams had a lot of opportunities to score goals. But unfortunately we didn't convert any; that hurts. Our heads need to stay up. If we repeat the performance from today in the coming weeks, then the points will come. We've lost against Augsburg and Dortmund due to two opposition corners; we need to be more alert in that situation and make better use of our chances."
Oliver Baumann: "I'm happy we're taking steps forward again and playing better football; we were competitive against Dortmund. But it's disappointing not to have gotten anything. We need to keep our heads up and take the positives from the match. We're aware that we're in a relegation battle, but we'll continue along the path we're on and trust in that. It's tough and a difficult year, but we need to keep going like this."
Kevin Vogt: "We have to work hard for the lucky breaks. We'll probably need to up it another notch to turn a game in our favour or get a call like the one today. I don't understand how this decision can go against us. Can catches Akpoguma low on his foot, he goes down. And what did he give? A drop ball. It's not about being a Dortmund or a Hoffenheim fan, but I don't get the drop ball. For me, it was a clear foul. And we need to take our chances. But they were there; we created some good ones in the second half. We can and will build on this."
Pellegrino Matarazzo (TSG Hoffenheim head coach): "We played a good game. It's clear we have to get through one or two spells of pressure against Borussia Dortmund. I especially liked the second half; we created lots of chances. We'll take the performance, it was positive and an improvement. We'll continue to work on improving even more. Football is always about results. Today was a step in the right direction, we'll go on the attack again against Mainz."
Edin Terzic (Borussia Dortmund head coach): "It was the hard-fought and close game we expected. The first 25 minutes were very open, then we produced a really good away performance up until half-time. It became more open again in the second half, but we then defended passionately. We also had the chances to put it to bed earlier on, but we didn't manage that. Nonetheless, I regard this a deserved victory against a strong team. We'll stay humble; dreaming of success won't help us to win the next match. But we won't forbid anyone from dreaming."
