TSG kick off the New Year

TSG Hoffenheim returned to the training ground on Monday and completed the first session of 2023. The team gathered on the pitch at 15:00 CET.

The preparations for the second half of the 2022/23 campaign are under way. With head coach André Breitenreiter missing the session due to illness, assistant coaches Darius Scholtysik and Frank Fröhling took charge. Following a warm-up in the weights room, 25 players made their way out onto the pitch for the session.

"It was good to see the boys again and be on the pitch. We already worked intensively prior to Christmas and want to build on that now to ensure that we have a successful half-season," commented Kevin Vogt after the training session.

TSG will travel to Albufeira, where they will hold a week-long training camp, on Tuesday. André Breitenreiter's charges will play two friendlies in Portugal  against VfL Wolfsburg (6 January at 14:30 local time) and Servette (9 January at 15:30 local time), before resuming their Bundesliga campaign with an away trip to 1. FC Union Berlin on 21 January. The full winter schedule can be found here.
