Winter break: Friendlies, training and a training camp

With the World Cup taking place this winter, there will be a break to the Bundesliga season from 14 November to 19 January 2023. TSG Hoffenheim will organise several training periods and breaks during this period, while three friendly fixtures have been arranged too. Plans for a training camp are also in the works.

TSG Hoffenheim's final competitive game of this calendar year comes on 12 November, when they welcome VfL Wolfsburg to the PreZero Arena. The TSG players who have not been called up for the World Cup or other international duty will then continue to train in Zuzenhausen up until and including Saturday 19 November, at which point there will be a 16-day training break. On 6 December, André Breitenreiter's team will return to the training ground and will train up until and including Wednesday 21 December.

Three friendlies have been scheduled for this period. TSG will play host to SV Elversberg, who currently top the 3. Liga table, on Wednesday 14 December. The next top team from the third tier, TSV 1860 Munich, will then visit the Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion in Hoffenheim on Saturday 17 December. The series of friendlies will conclude with a clash with SpVgg Greuther Fürth on 20 December. Fans are permitted for the match against the Munich Lions, while the two friendlies against Elversberg and Fürth will be played behind closed doors. Tickets for the match against 1860 Munich can be found here.

The team will meet up for the last time this year on 21 December, with an 11-day Christmas break to follow. The preparations for the second half of the season will start when training resumes in the New Year on 2 January 2023. A training camp is currently in the works for the start of January. TSG will travel to the Bruchwegstadion for a friendly against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on 14 January. Info on tickets for that to follow.
