Stiller loses with U21s in England

The Bundesliga was on a break this weekend, but 12 TSG players have been in international action with their countries in recent days. We look back at the internationals involving Hoffenheim players.

On Tuesday, Angelo Stiller captained the DFB U21 team in their friendly fixture against England, in which they went 1-0 ahead but ultimately lost 3-1. Georginio only featured as a substitute in the France U21s' 2-2 draw with Belgium. In addition, Kevin Akpoguma was in action for Nigeria. He played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 defeat against Algeria. Muhammed Dumar won a third game in the space of a week with the DFB U19s, but this time failed to score in the 1-0 victory against Slovakia.

Oliver Baumann (Germany)

Nations League: Germany 0-1 Hungary

Nations League: England 3-3 Germany

Baumann, who had been on standby, was called up by the German national team as the third goalkeeper prior to the Hungary game, after Manuel Neuer had to leave the squad following a corona infection. Baumann was an unused substitute in both matches.

Andrej Kramarić (Croatia)

Nations League: Croatia 2-1 Denmark

Nations League: Austria 1-3 Croatia

Andrej Kramarić played from the start against Denmark and was substituted on in the 84th minute of the 3-1 win in Austria. Croatia came top of this League A group and qualified for the final four of the Nations League, which will take place next year.

Christoph Baumgartner (Austria)

Nations League: France 2-0 Austria

Nations League: Austria 1-3 Croatia

Baumgartner scored his seventh international goal against Croatia. The midfielder did not make the starting XI against France and was only sent on by national team coach Ralf Rangnick as a 64th-minute substitute. Austria were relegated to League B of the Nations League.

Ozan Kabak (Turkey)

Nations League: Turkey 3-3 Luxembourg

Nations League: Faroe Islands 2-1 Turkey

Ozan Kabak only played in the defeat to the Faroe Islands and was an unused substitute for the draw against Luxembourg. Despite the disappointing results, Turkey finished top of the group and were promoted to League B.

Kevin Akpoguma (Nigeria)

Friendly: Algeria 1-2 Nigeria

Kevin Akpoguma played the full 90 minutes of the friendly in Paris.

Angelo Stiller (Germany U21s)

Friendly: Germany U21s 0-1 France U21s

Friendly: England U21s 3-1 Germany U21s

Angelo Stiller captained the Germany U21 team onto the pitch for their matches in Magdeburg and Sheffield. He was substituted off in the 84th minute against the French and played the full 90 minutes against England. Both games were seen as acid tests ahead of the U21 EUROs, which begin in nine months.

Georginio (France U21s)

Friendly: Germany U21s 0-1 France U21s

Friendly: France U21s 2-2 Belgium U21s

Georginio played the full 90 minutes of the win against the Germany U21s but did not feature until the 68th minute of match against Belgium.

Eduardo Quaresma (Portugal U21s)

Friendly: Portugal U21s 4-1 Georgia U21s

Eduardo Quaresma played the first half of the Portugal U21 team's friendly against Georgia and was substituted at half-time – along with nine of his team-mates.

Fisnik Asllani (Germany U20s)

Friendly: Germany U20s 2-1 Poland U20s

Friendly: Romania U20s 0-1 Germany U20s

Fisnik Asllani levelled at 1-1 in the 2-1 win over Poland. He also made the starting XI for the victory against Romania.

Nahuel Noll (Germany U20s)

Friendly: Germany U20s 2-1 Poland U20s

Friendly: Romania U20s 0-1 Germany U20s

Nahuel Noll was in the starting XI in Romania, having been the back-up goalkeeper against Poland, and received lots of praise for his performance.

Muhammed Damar (Germany U19s)

Friendly: Germany U19s 5-0 Armenia U19s

Friendly: Germany U19s 5-1 Belarus U19s

Friendly: Germany U19s 1-0 Slovakia U19s

Muhammed Damar scored one goal in the 5-0 victory against Armenia and bagged a brace in the 5-1 win against Belarus. He played 89 minutes of the 1-0 victory against Slovakia.

Tom Bischof (Germany U18s)

Friendly: Czech Republic U18s 0-4 Germany U18s

Friendly: Germany U18s 2-0 USA U18s

Friendly: Mexico U18s 1-0 Germany U18s

Tom Bischof was part of the team that won the Vaclav Jezek Tournament in Czechia. He scored the goal to make it 3-0 against the hosts in the opening game. He then came on in the 67th minute against the USA and was in the starting XI again against Mexico.
