Prömel: "That was a hard-fought win"

Dennis Geiger: "When I scored, my first thought was why Robert had played the ball over to my left but then I hit it perfectly. Sometimes it goes in the corner, sometimes it goes over. That makes me all the more pleased that it worked out today. It was a hard-fought win today, that's the way it is sometimes. We have only played four matches. The victory today was very important because it wasn't so easy. Augsburg are tough to play against and resisted well. We need to continue exactly like this and keep focusing on ourselves."

Christoph Baumgartner: "We wanted to win the game and keep a clean sheet. We managed that. It was a difficult game but the result is the only thing that counts. It was a lovely goal from us, from the creation to the finish."

Grischa Prömel: "That was a hard-fought win. We made it difficult for ourselves, did not finish off the very many good counter-attacks well and made it unnecessarily tense. It was our third victory in a row, we're slowly hitting our stride, but it was hard work too. A match like this gives us self-confidence, it serves as a vindication for the way we are training and the way the coach sets an example and acts day-in, day-out. We now want to carry forward the momentum; the wins give us confidence, we're in good form and need not shy away from anyone."

André Breitenreiter: "In my opinion, it was a highly deserved victory. It was the tough game we expected. We succeeded in keeping the opponent away from our goal. In attacking terms, it did not go the way we envisaged. In the end, we missed several big chances. However, I'm satisfied that we won the match. The support from the fans was outstanding."

Enrico Maassen (FC Augsburg coach): "We saw a very even game. Hoffenheim had the better chances, however, which is why the win is also deserved. That said, we played a good game. We were lacking a little bit of precision and composure. We didn't cover our own attacks well enough and often got hit on the counter-attack."
