Damar becomes a permanent member of the first team squad

Only a few days after making his Bundesliga debut, Muhammad Damar will be a permanent member of the TSG first team from now on. The 18-year-old moved to the Kraichgau from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer and signed a contract with TSG Hoffenheim until 2026. The central midfielder came on for Christoph Baumgartner in the 80th minute of the draw in Mönchengladbach last Saturday and got his first Bundesliga minutes under his belt.

"Mo was initially supposed to be part of our U23 team and was well aware of that when he decided to sign for us. When he got the chance to show what he could do with the first team at the start of preseason, he took advantage of it from the day one and, in a sense, surpassed the development plan that we had originally discussed," said TSG director of professional football, Alexander Rosen. "Mo's signing is a big compliment to the people in charge of our academy and all the staff involved in the scouting department who were able to get him interested in joining TSG during the talks."

Damar travelled with André Breitenreiter's team to the training camp in Kitzbühel and has been training with the first team recently. "Mo really stood out during preseason and also looked good in the friendlies – that's exactly what it's all about when you get the opportunity to show what you can do as a young player. He has really great fundamentals and if he continues to work with the same focus, we will all enjoy watching him in future," said head coach André Breitenreiter about the German U18 international. "Developing talented young players like him is consistent with both my personal philosophy and that of TSG."
