TSG to take on Verona as part of season opening ceremony

Be there live for the first big fan festival of the season: on 23 July, TSG will be holding the official season opening ceremony at the PreZero Arena and there will be numerous attractions on offer for the fans. The highlight will be the final acid test prior to the competitive restart in Rödinghausen in the DFB-Pokal (31 July, 15:30 CET). Serie A club Hellas Verona will visit the Kraichgau and contest the final friendly of TSG's pre-season. Kick-off for that match will be at 15:30 CET. The game will consist of four x 30-minute periods.

Hellas Verona, Italian champions from 1984/85, finished last season in ninth place. Hans-Peter Briegel played a major role in that historic title win. A year after his departure in 1986, Thomas Berthold, who went on to win the 1990 World Cup, joined the club. There is also one German, Koray Günter, in the Northern Italians' current squad.

But the international head-to-head between the Bundesliga and Serie A will not be the only source of entertainment. The season opening ceremony will kick off at the PreZero Arena's event area at 12:00 CET. There will be a varied program including children's face-painting, a shooting contest, robokeeper, an AirPitch football pitch and many other activities. There will also be a wide range of food and drinks. An additional highlight will follow after the friendly in the form of an autograph-signing session with the first team. Important information: This season, the season ticket also grants entry to the 2022/23 season opening ceremony. For holders of a chip card season ticket, the game will automatically be activated on the chip card season ticket (plastic card). As for booklet season tickets, there will be a separate ticket entitled "Saisoneröffnung 2022/2023".
