Alexander Rosen extends with TSG Hoffenheim

Alexander Rosen will remain the head of TSG Hoffenheim's sporting department in the years to come. The Bundesliga club's management have prematurely extended the director of football's contract until 2025.

Alexander Rosen has occupied this position since April 2013 and has played a significant part in the Kraichgau club's success story. During his tenure, TSG Hoffenheim have qualified for the Champions League once and the Europa League twice. "The fact the club has undergone this impressive development is closely associated with his name," said managing director Frank Briel in praise of Rosen, whose contract extension will take him into his second decade as director of football. "This period alone shows how successful Alex's work has been and how his influence is valued at the club," said Briel, who has overseen Rosen's entire career at TSG in his role as managing director.

In recent years, Rosen has not only impressed via his involvement in the sporting successes of the club's senior team and the generation of an enormous transfer surplus. The 43-year-old Augsburg native is also largely responsible for TSG's outstanding work with talented youngsters. Even before his time in charge of the Bundesliga team's sporting affairs, he was helping to construct the TSG approach as head of the academy, which has been used for years to pass on the club's sporting philosophy and ensure a high level of promotion from the academy to the Bundesliga team.

"The contract extension is not only a great demonstration of trust, for which I would like to thank shareholders Dietmar Hopp and Kristian Baumgärtner as well as the management, but also serves as proof that I continue to do my job here with great enjoyment, passion and identification. I'm passionate about TSG and consider it a privilege to be able to continue shaping the future of the club," said Rosen. The father of two also extended his thanks to the team, "without which this tough and time-consuming work that is needed to keep a club like TSG Hoffenheim at a high level in Germany's top tier for 15 years would not be possible to perform".
