Beier pens new contract, extends loan with Hannover 96

Bundesliga football club TSG Hoffenheim have prematurely extended Maximilian Beier's contract until 30 June 2025. At the same time, an agreement was reached for the 19-year-old striker to remain on loan at second-tier Hannover 96 next season.

"Getting match practice is an important component of a young player's development. Maxi took a big step forwards at Hannover last season and so after weighing up all the arguments, we decided together to extend the loan," said TSG's director of football Alexander Rosen as he reflected on an "outstanding solution for everyone involved". Rosen described Beier as "a highly talented forward whom we expect to play a really good role in our Bundesliga squad in the future".

The striker settled into the Hannover 96 squad right from the beginning and has made 33 competitive appearances to date, notching seven goals and seven assists. Beier has made nine Bundesliga appearances and two Europa League appearances for TSG, scoring two goals. At the time, he became the youngest Bundesliga player in Hoffenheim's history when he made his debut in a 1-0 win against SC Freiburg on Matchday 21 of the 2019/20 season at the age of 17 years, three months and 22 days. He has since seen his record beaten by Tom Bischof.
