TSG ECHAMPION FINALS ON 11 JUNE IN THE PREZERO ARENA

Way back in October 2021, TSG Hoffenheim started the Road to TSG eChampion: numerous TSG fan eCups, TSG fan duels and the TSG league table have brought the lucky few all the way to the grand final at the PreZero Arena. The offline event will take place on 11 June and see the TSG eChampion crowned – and possibly a new member of the TSG eSports team.

Our FIFA pros are already playing in the FIFA Global Series, and TSG eSports have also taken part in the VBL Club Championship and the FIFAe Club Series as a team. But we had never had an in-house eSports competition carried out over an extended period – until autumn 2021. That is when the first FIFA 22 TSG fan eCup saw the start of the Road to TSG eChampion, which is now set to come to a dramatic conclusion. Over the course of the following months, the finalists were decided through the tried-and-tested TSG fan eCups, TSG fan duels and the resulting TSG league table.

The field for the final is now complete and the contestants will gather for the Road to TSG eChampion Final on 11 June at TSG Hoffenheim's home ground. The winner will be crowned at the full-day offline event, which will also be streamed live on Twitch – and we may even see a new member of the TSG eSports team. One FIFA player is to be chosen from all participants. The winner will not automatically be selected for the team, as the team are looking for someone with social skills and media competence, as well as eSporting prowess. The final event will be played on PlayStation 5 and will see the contestants compete in groups. Only 16 will make it through the groups, and the competition will then switch to a classic knockout format through to the final. The 2022 TSG eChampion will be crowned on the evening of 11 June.

On 11 June, well-known players such as VBL Grand Final qualifier Cedric 'Lob Cedi' Günther, who plays under the gamertag 'FCF Cruyff', Efe 'Yaronaldo' Yar and Julien 'Julien Fungk' Fungk will compete for the title. However, there is no real stand-out favourite as yet in the very competitive field – all the signs point to a tense final competition and thus a fitting conclusion of the very first Road to TSG eChampion.
