#TSGSGF: Fond memories of the reverse fixture

TSG Hoffenheim will be hoping to get back on track when they play host to SpVgg Greuther Fürth on Sunday (17:30 CET / Live Ticker at tsg-hoffenheim.de). TSG will not be looking to give away any Easter gifts, but rather to return to winning ways after four games without a victory. The stats will certainly serve as a good omen for head coach Sebastian Hoeness' side. We bring you all the important facts and figures on #TSGSGF below.

Did you know that…

…several firsts occurred in the reverse fixture?

The 6-3 in November was the first time that TSG Hoffenheim have ever found the net six times in a Bundesliga away game. It was also the first time a match involving the Kraichgau club has ended 6-3. There have now been 40 different scorelines for TSG in the German top flight.

…this will be a meeting of opposites?

Hoffenheim have taken the most points in the Bundesliga from losing positions (21). Fürth, meanwhile, have dropped the most points from winning positions (20) and have only picked up six points from losing positions.

…Fürth struggle on the road?

Stefan Leitl's charges have picked up only two points on their travels this season and have not yet registered an away victory. That is by some distance the worst record in the Bundesliga, with Hertha BSC the second-worst on eight points.

…SpVgg have improved significantly in the second half-season?

Having amassed only five points in the first half of the season, Fürth already have 12 to their name since the start of 2022. That means 15th place in the post winter break table though that is, of course, little more than a statistic and cannot spare the Franconians from a highly probable relegation. In the overall table, the basement boys are 10 points adrift of the relegation play-off place.

…both teams have been wobbling recently?

TSG are on a four-match winless run and have picked up only one point since mid-March. Opponents Fürth have not won in seven games but have taken a point against 1. FC Cologne, SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt during that run.

…Fürth could be relegated for the second time on Sunday?

A victory for TSG could seal Fürth's second relegation from the Bundesliga. But that will only be the case if second-bottom Hertha win in Augsburg, 16th-placed Bielefeld take three points at home to German champions and runaway leaders Bayern Munich, and 15th-placed Stuttgart win in Mainz.
