TSG duo to go head-to-head in Sinsheim

TSG Hoffenheim normally play their home games at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim. But the Bundesliga will be on a break this weekend. TSG's home venue will still play host to a football match on Saturday, though, as the German national team prepare to take on their Israeli counterparts in Sinsheim (20:45 CET) – an international friendly which could see David Raum and Munas Dabbur go head-to-head.

David Raum and Munas Dabbur usually play alongside each other at TSG Hoffenheim. The left-back is a supply line for the forward not only in training, but with his consistent precise crosses on matchdays too. The TSG duo could once again be on the pitch together on Saturday evening (20:45 CET, live on ZDF). But this time, they will be wearing different shirts.

That's because the German national team are preparing to face Israel in Sinsheim. And both Raum and Dabbur have been called up by their countries. "We link up well together. With that in mind, it's a shame that we're playing against rather than alongside each other on Saturday," said Raum prior to the clash. Dabbur is looking forward to the match too. "It'll obviously be a special game, David and I have had a good understanding since day one. Normally we play together, it's going to be exciting."

Incidentally, this is the third time the DFB team have played in Sinsheim. Germany beat Uruguay 2-1 in May 2011 and then won 2-1 against Peru on 9 September 2018 thanks to a goal from then Hoffenheim player Nico Schulz. Saturday could be the first time that two TSG players are involved in an international fixture in our home stadium.

The two internationals are looking forward to the clash in our own back yard. "We're playing in my stadium. My wife and my daughter will be there, it'll be a special experience," said Dabbur. David Raum is also full of excitement: "The fact the match will be played in our own stadium is something special. It'll be a home game for the both of us."
