Tom Bischof given new contract

TSG Hoffenheim have extended Tom Bischof’s contract. The 16-year-old top talent, who became the youngster player to be included in a TSG Bundesliga squad for the 2-1 defeat away to Union Berlin, has extended his contract until 30 June 2025.

"Tom is an enormous talent who, despite his tender age, already possesses considerable maturity as well as exceptional footballing abilities. Unless something unforeseeable happens, the question with him is not whether he’ll play in the Bundesliga one day, but when," said Alexander Rosen. "That being said, we want and will continue to build Tom up calmly and without pressure so that his development continues. In recent years, we’ve impressively demonstrated that we can offer exactly the right environment for this with our numerous experts and our experience," added the director of professional football.

Tom Bischof was talent-spotted by TSG Hoffenheim at the age of seven but initially continued to play for his hometown club of TSV Amorbach.  The midfielder then progressed through the youth ranks in Hoffenheim. He has been part of the first-team squad since the preparation period for the current campaign and regularly features for the club’s U19s at the weekends (10 appearances, four goals). He has previously been selected to represent Germany at U16 and U17 level. “For me, it’s a great joy to accompany a player like Tom through his development process. He has made a strong impression since day one with us and given his ambition and talent, I have no doubts that he will approach his next steps with the same determination,” said head coach Sebastian Hoeness of Bischof.
