Hübner: "We were clearly the better team"

Here's what the players and coaches had to say after the 3-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

Benjamin Hübner: "We were clearly the better team. There are no two ways about it, we totally dominated in footballing terms. The way we came back despite conceding the goals is not to be taken for granted either. It's not the first time that's happened. It makes me proud that we showed that kind of character. We can be absolutely satisfied with the way we played, only the result was missing. In the end, we were simply less effective and were ruthlessly punished by BVB. The goals were perhaps given away a little too easily."

…on his return to the starting XI: "At the moment, it is outweighed by my frustration at the defeat. When I get home, I'll surely feel happy to have made my comeback. I always believed that I'd get back on to the pitch. I always wanted to come back. But the times when I would look back are now over. Now I'm only looking forward."

Andrej Kramarić: "It's an extremely frustrating defeat because we produced a top performance. Dortmund had three shots at goal and scored three goals. We're dissatisfied with the result, but the performance was really good. We were clearly the better team. We need to build on this; then the results will come and will be reflected by the table. We deserved more today, but that's part and parcel of football. I'm naturally ecstatic with my 100th goal for TSG. It took a really long time to come. I'd like to thank my family, the club and my team-mates. My son came to the stadium for the first time today, I'm delighted that I was able to score with him watching."

Chris Richards: "We were simply the unluckier team today. We were immediately in the game and were the better team in my view. I had the impression the final few percent was missing today. That made the difference. We now want to come back stronger. We showed several good things today that we want to build on in the coming weeks."

Sebastian Hoeness: "We cannot have any complaints about the performance today. The opening minutes were not so good but it's still bitter to immediately go 1-0 down via the first chance. The lads fought superbly. After 15 minutes, the match turned in our favour. We no longer gave anything away. The equaliser was obviously deserved and we made a super start at the beginning of the second half too. We then missed out on scoring the goal. The two goals we conceded cannot be allowed to happen, but we did not give up. Unfortunately, we missed the chance to equalise. I can't reproach the lads for anything today, even if the result doesn't leave a pleasant taste."

Marco Rose (Borussia Dortmund coach): "It was a very intense game which we started well. After we took the lead, Hoffenheim came into the game more and more. They forced us into solely closing down spaces. Yet they still found gaps. Hoffenheim's build-up play is very good. With that in mind, the equaliser was deserved. We switched things up in the second half, which did us good. Hoffenheim could then no longer get into the spaces and we scored the two goals. TSG then pushed us once more, but we battled our way to victory. It's a fortuitous win for us."
