Asllani promoted to senior squad

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim have integrated the next talented youngster into their first-team set-up. Striker Fisnik Asllani, most recently a member of the TSG U23 squad, joins head coach Sebastian Hoeness' team on a permanent basis with immediate effect. For the 19-year-old, who was included in the matchday squad for the senior team three times in the first half of this season and made his professional debut in the home game against RB Leipzig on 20 November 2021, the promotion marks the next significant step in his fledgling career.

"Fisnik is a highly talented player with a very interesting striker profile, as he possesses many attributes of a classic number 9. He already made a good impression in pre-season, so we gave great consideration to bringing him into the professional squad on a permanent basis in August last year. Unfortunately, a knee injury he suffered in the friendly against Stade Reims set him back a few weeks at the time," said Alexander Rosen, the director of football at TSG Hoffenheim. "Fisnik is another example of our strategy of identifying talented youngsters, developing them with caution and care, and eventually integrating them into the professional squad."

Fisnik Asllani has been a TSG player since the summer of 2020 and has penned a contract with the Kraichgau club until 30.06.2024. Having been forced to take a few days off due to illness, the Germany youth international will complete his first training session as a permanent member of TSG Hoffenheim's senior squad on Wednesday.
