TSG first team bring joy to young patients

Joy in children's eyes and festive cheer thanks to this year's Christmas campaign by Bundesliga football club TSG Hoffenheim. Club board member Kristian Baumgärtner and stadium announcer Mike Diehl distributed around 800 cuddly Hoffis in the children's wards of the hospitals in Sinsheim, Mosbach, Heilbronn and Heidelberg over the past few days.

"A really great idea. The Hoffis give the children a happy moment and make them forget their worries and ailments," was what the hospital staff had to say when the gifts were handed over in Heilbronn. Covid regulations meant that direct contact with the young patients was unfortunately not possible, but there was nonetheless great joy when the gifts were handed over to the hospital staff. TSG's first team reached into the players' kitty and, together with "TSG hilft e.V.", bought the cuddly Hoffi mascots in order to bring joy to the sick children in the region who have to spend Christmas in hospital.

"We sat down together and thought about how we could bring joy to others at Christmas. The children in the region are of course very close to our hearts. There are many who, due to being in hospital, cannot spend time at home with their families over Christmas. We are very happy if we can give them a little moment of joy," said team captain Benni Hübner.

"TSG hilft e.V." (TSG helps) was founded in April 2020 as a demonstration of the club's solidarity and willingness to help people and clubs in the region get through the Covid crisis. Since then, around 250 organisations, from football clubs to music groups, have received financial support so that they can continue their community work, especially for children.
