Mihambo illustration provides donation for "TSG helps''

"TSG hilft" (TSG helps) enjoyed a nice bit of pre-Christmas success last night, as the online auction of an exclusive and signed illustration of the Heidelberg Olympic long-jump champion Malaika Mihambo raised 330 euros. All the proceeds from the auction will go to the charitable foundation of the Bundesliga football club TSG Hoffenheim. "TSG hilft e.V." supports smaller clubs in the region so that they can continue operating through these difficult Covid times. Since its establishment in April 2020, the foundation has already been able to provide financial help to around 250 organisations, from football clubs to music groups.

"But even 'TSG hilft' needs donations to be able to provide assistance. And Malaika has thankfully helped us with this," says Holger Kliem. For the club magazine SPIELFELD, the head of the TSG media department illustrated Mihambo's moment of victory at the Olympics in Tokyo this summer and, together with the track & field athlete, signed the exclusive art print, which has now been auctioned off in aid of "TSG hilft". "We are very happy about the result of the auction and thank the donor as well as everyone who supported this initiative. The money will certainly be put to good use," says Kliem. Most recently, "TSG hilft" supported the Hoffenheim first team in their Christmas campaign, which involved distributing around 800 cuddly toys to sick children in the hospitals in Heidelberg, Sinsheim, Mosbach and Heilbronn.

Hoffis for hospitalised children

Wide-eyed children and Christmas joy: TSG board member Kristian Baumgärtner and stadium announcer Mike Diehl have distributed hundreds of plush elks across the children's wards of Sinsheim's hospitals over the past few days. Heilbronn and Heidelberg will be up next in the coming days. Due to coronavirus regulations, it is unfortunately not possible to see the children in person at the moment, but there was still a sense of widespread joy. TSG's Bundesliga team had dug into the team coffers and, together with "TSG hilft", bought the cuddly toy club mascots in a bid to bring some joy to the children of the region.

"Together, we thought about how we could bring joy to others at Christmas. Of course, the children in the region are very close to our hearts. There are many who cannot be with their families over Christmas as they are in hospital. If we can give them a little moment of happiness, that makes us very happy," said team captain Benni Hübner.

All the information on the Christmas initiative can be found here.

Germany to host Dabbur's Israel in the PreZero Arena

Two TSG players could go head-to-head with each other at the PreZero Arena in a special international match on 26 March (20:45 CET). The fixture will see Munas Dabbur's Israel team travel to Sinsheim to face off against David Raum and the Germany national team. This will be the first fixture of the year for coach Hansi Flick's Germany side and the second time in history that the national team have played in Sinsheim; Germany previously defeated Peru 2-1 in a friendly in September 2018.
