Dangerous in front of goal and great morale

The Bundesliga is back – and TSG are looking forward to the game against Mainz in the PreZero Arena. On Saturday (15:30 CET / live updates on tsg-hoffenheim.de) TSG Hoffenheim take on Mainz 05 and are looking to climb up the table with a win. Before the match against the team from Rhenish Hesse, tsg-hoffenheim.de has all the facts and figures you need to know ahead of #TSGM05 below.

Did you know that …

… TSG have started the season with plenty of firepower?

Hoffenheim scored eight goals in their first three Bundesliga games. TSG have only scored more (10) at this stage of the season in 2013/14.

… the PreZero Arena is currently a fortress?

TSG are unbeaten in Sinsheim for five Bundesliga matches, including last season. That represents their best run since spring 2019.

… Mainz are a top team in the Bundesliga in the 2021 calendar year?

Mainz have lost only two of their last 14 Bundesliga matches (8 wins, 4 draws) – in the 14 Bundesliga matches prior to that, they had lost as many as eight games (3 wins, 3 draws).

… Sebastian Hoeness's team are fit and have great morale?

TSG have scored four goals in the final 15 minutes of games in this Bundesliga season. No other team has managed to score more than two. Two of these Hoffenheim strikes were actually in the 90th minute or later – the most in the league. Sebastian Rudy scored the latest goal of the season after 90+5 minutes against Augsburg.

…. Mainz have not scored an away goal this season?

Mainz have scored their four Bundesliga goals in their own stadium this season and did not find the net in their only away match this season (a 2-0 loss in Bochum). If Mainz fail to score against TSG, it would be the third time they have failed to manage a goal in their first two away games, having previously done so in 2005/06 and 2017/18.

… TSG are the team that always score?

Hoffenheim have scored at least one goal in each of their past eight Bundesliga matches – TSG last went on a longer run in the top division between October 2019 and February 2020 (14).

… Ihlas Bebou particularly enjoys games against Mainz?

The last three TSG goals against Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga were all scored by Ihlas Bebou, who has been missing recently due to Covid-19. He has not scored more against any other team in the top division (also 3 against Dortmund and Augsburg).
