Raum: "It's a dream come true"

David, your first weeks at TSG are over. How are you liking it in Hoffenheim so far?

"It was the first transfer of my career, so it's a new feeling for me. But I have been given such a lovely welcome by the players and the coaching staff, and I feel extremely happy. I couldn't have imagined a better start and I'm delighted that the Bundesliga is now getting under way."

You won 3-2 away at Viktoria Cologne in the DFB-Pokal on Monday. What did you make of the game?

"We would've naturally liked to win inside 90 minutes, but in the end it's the going through that counts. It was hard work, but we're happy that we've reached the second round. Now our focus is on the Bundesliga."

It was your first competitive game in a TSG shirt. How much are you looking forward to the Bundesliga season?

"It was a brilliant feeling. But I'm looking forward to my first Bundesliga match even more. Not because it's my season debut, but because it's my very first match in the Bundesliga. That means that a dream that I've been working towards for a long time is now coming true. I wouldn't have thought it possible a few years ago."

Your Bundesliga campaign gets under way on Saturday away to FC Augsburg. What will it come down to?

"I know Niklas Dorsch and Felix Uduokhai, my team-mates from the U21 European Championship, pretty well. Augsburg have a young and talented team. They also had a hard time of it in the cup, but they have a lot of potential. We want to impose our style of play and get the first three points of the season."
