Croatia beaten in dramatic EURO last-16 tie
TSG forward Andrej Kramarić and the Croatian national team were beaten 5-3 in extra-time by opponents Spain in a dramatic Round of 16 tie on Monday evening. Coach Zlatko Dalic's charges initially took the lead through Spaniard Pedri's own goal in front of more than 22,000 spectators in Copenhagen, before Spain hit back with three goals and appeared on course for a comfortable win until the 85th minute of the match. But a headed goal from Pasalic in the second minute of stoppage time levelled parity for the 2018 World Cup finalists and forced extra-time. Spain, though, kept their composure and scored two goals in the space of three minutes. Hoffenheim striker Kramarić was brought on as a 46th-minute substitute with the score at 1-1.
Following Kramarić's elimination, the number of TSG Hoffenheim players still involved in the pan-European tournament decreased to two. Robert Skov (Denmark) and Pavel Kadeřábek (Czechia) are still involved in the tournament with their countries and will go head-to-head in the quarter-final, to be played at Baku's Olympic Stadium on Saturday (18:00 CET). That means there will be a TSG player involved in the EURO semi-finals whatever happens.
