Hoeness: "We want to go for it"

The break is over and the Bundesliga is set to return: Saturday (15:30 CET/Live Ticker at tsg-hoffenheim.de) sees TSG Hoffenheim welcome FC Schalke 04 to the PreZero Arena. Prior to facing the club rooted to the bottom of the table, head coach Sebastian Hoeness spoke about the personnel situation, the goals for the season run-in and the opposition.

Sebastian Hoeness on…

…the personnel situation: "Ermin Bičakčić, Dennis Geiger, Benjamin Hübner, Konstantinos Stafylidis, Håvard Nordtveit and Munas Dabbur will be unavailable until the end of the season. Chris Richards will not be fit in time for the weekend either. There are minor question marks surrounding the involvement of Sebastian Rudy, Mijat Gaćinović, Kevin Akpoguma, Kevin Vogt and Diadie Samassékou, but things are moving in the right direction."

…the goals for the remainder of the season: "Our focus is on the next three games. We want to continue our run and build on the performances from our last four matches. We want to keep picking up points."

…the opposition: "The way they will perform on the pitch is a bit unpredictable. It is their first game since they were relegation. Schalke have three players suspended, plus they have some injury problems as well. That said, they still have a good starting XI. Especially up front, where they have some good players. We're focusing on our own performance and we want to go for it."

…the defeat in the reverse fixture: "I'm not wasting much energy thinking about the reverse fixture. It's not a nice memory of course, but the situation is completely different now."

The opposition's form:

FC Schalke 04's relegation has already been confirmed. Despite having a game in hand, coach Dimitrios Grammozis' team cannot finish higher than 18th place. It is the first time the Royal Blues have been relegated since 1988.

Head-to-head record:

The Bundesliga head-to-head record is even with nine wins apiece, plus seven draws. Schalke won the reverse fixture 4-0. However, TSG have lost only one of their 12 meetings at home (W6 D5).
