Baumgartner: "We showed a good reaction"

Here's what the players, coaches and officials had to say after the 4-2 win over FC Schalke 04.

Christoph Baumgartner: "The first half wasn't good, even though we did have one or two chances. But we weren't consistent enough. Every player knew at half-time that it wasn't enough. We were mad with ourselves, because we're capable of better. We showed a good reaction; that was very important. We played outstandingly well in the second half; we're happy with that. Over the course of recent weeks, we have often shown the Hoffenheim we want to see. We now want to do that again in the last two games and then next season as well."

Andrej Kramarić: "The match was like our whole season in microcosm. The first half wasn't good; the 2-0 scoreline says it all. But in the second half, it was similar to the Mönchengladbach game. We came back with a lot of energy and scored four goals in less than 20 minutes. I'm happy and unhappy at the same time, because we can play better. We have a lot of potential in the team, but we still show it too rarely. I'm delighted with the record. But I always want more; I'm always motivated to score goals."

Kevin Akpoguma: "The first half was not good; we wanted to show a different side to ourselves. It was important for us to level the scores quickly and turn the game in our favour. We did that thanks to the goals from myself and Andrej. For me, it was obviously good to score my first Bundesliga goal after such a long time. I'm going to let that sink in now and enjoy it."

Sebastian Hoeness: "Things got slightly louder in the changing room after the first 45 minutes. My feeling was that we still needed an impulse to squeeze out that last few percent. We didn't play badly in the first half, but we were not precise enough. Of course, it did help us that we scored so early in the second half. The team's reaction was strong. The first goal gave us the belief that we could still win. We didn't give away a thing at the back and absolutely deserved to win."

Alexander Rosen: "The first half was a reflection of some parts of the season. We dictated the play in the opening 45 minutes, but were not forceful enough. You can only be satisfied with the second half. After the dream goal from Andrej Kramarić, we produced a gala display for 25 minutes, performed very strongly and deserved to win. It has been a season with an extremely high number of tough moments. You have to acknowledge that first of all. But we're still in a solid position. What impresses me is that we've simply got on with it and believed in ourselves. We showed that again today. We want to continue our strong current form in the last two games of the season."

Dimitrios Grammozis (FC Schalke 04 coach): "We said at the break that we needed to keep performing like that to take something from this game. Unfortunately, the players then did slightly less than in the first half. That gets immediately punished in the Bundesliga. We now want to end the season respectably."
