Dabbur scores, Adamyan leapfrogs Germany in group
Six TSG players were in competitive action for their respective countries on Wednesday evening. Forward Munas Dabbur had the most successful time of it, representing Israeli and finding the back of the net as they came back to claim a 4-1 win against the Republic of Moldova. Denmark pulled off a statement win of their own against Austria in Group F. The Danes claimed a 4-0 away victory and now sit top of their group with a maximum points haul of nine from their three games. Christoph Baumgartner played the full 90 minutes for the Austrian national team, while Stefan Posch came off the bench in the 82nd minute. Florian Grillitsch missed out through suspension. Robert Skov was an unused substitute for Denmark in that match.
Elsewhere, there was a memorable moment for Sargis Adamyan and the Armenian national team. Coach Joaquín Caparrós' side came from behind to beat Romania 3-2 and move to the top of Group J. The result saw Adamyan & Co. leapfrog Germany in the table. The TSG striker came on as a substitute at the beginning of the second period.
Sessegnon eliminated
Ryan Sessegnon had a rather bitter evening with the English youngsters at the U21 European Championships. The Three Lions needed to win their final group game against Croatia by two clear goals to reach the quarter-finals. They were leading 2-0 as the game entered stoppage time, but Croatia then pulled a goal back to ensure it was they – rather than Sessegnon's England, who were eliminated from the tournament – that progressed to the knockout stages. The TSG man was an unused substitute for the first time at the tournament for the 2-1 win.
