UEL Round-Up – The facts on the first leg against Molde

During the knockout stages, tsg-hoffenheim.de will continue publish a round-up on the morning after each European match containing the most important match facts and the press reactions.

The match facts:

TSG Hoffenheim dominated proceedings and had numerous chances to add to their lead as the statistics showed. They had more shots (25-9), recorded more possession (55%) and won more challenges (58%). But in the end the match finished 3-3.

That said, the three aways goals leave TSG in pole position. A goalless draw would take Hoffenheim through to the next round, meaning Molde have to score at least once to have a chance.

The man of the match:

Munas Dabbur produced an impressive display in the first half, scoring two goals and setting up another. He thought he had extended TSG's lead to 4-1 at the start of the second half, only for the goal to be disallowed because provider Ihlas Bebou had been offside in the build-up. The Israeli then became the tragic hero when he missed from the spot in the 63rd minute. Molde took heart from the miss and scored twice in the next 11 minutes to level the score.

The quote of the evening:

Christoph Baumgartner: "We lost our way and were no longer tidy and purposeful in possession. There were a few things lacking off the ball too. That's how a game like this could finish 3-3, even though we were the better team for long spells. If you drop off one percent, something like this can happen. That's what we saw today. We didn't manage to close out the game."

The press reactions:
