TSG draw in Dortmund

TSG Hoffenheim came close to winning but ultimately had to settle for a point in a 2-2 (1-1) draw away to Borussia Dortmund. TSG initially fell behind in a fiery encounter at Signal Iduna Park, but turned the game on its head through goals from Munas Dabbur and Ihlas Bebou. Sebastian Hoeness' men looked on course for the victory for a long period, only for Erling Haaland to level for BVB late on.

Personnel & tactics:

Head coach Sebastian Hoeness made four changes to the starting XI that suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt last time out. Florian Grillitsch returned to the defence and played alongside Kevin Vogt and Stefan Posch in a back three in front of goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. Pavel Kadeřábek returned to the line-up and started on the right flank, with Marco John on the left. The midfield of Sebastian Rudy, Diadie Samassékou and Christoph Baumgartner remained unchanged, while Ihlas Bebou and Munas Dabbur started up front. Andrej Kramarić was omitted from the squad due to an injury.

Mijat Gaćinović came on in place of Kadeřábek on the 64-minute mark. Robert Skov then replaced Dabbur in attack with two minutes to go.

Moment of the match:

The 2-2 equaliser: Munas Dabbur was lying prostrate on the ground. Mijat Gaćinović played a pass into the middle of the park and Dortmund chased it down, forcing Sebastian Rudy into making a mistake. Erling Haaland seized on the loose ball and levelled the scores (81).

Number of the game: 5

Kevin Vogt was one of seven TSG players to have their names taken in Dortmund. His 59th-minute yellow card was his fifth of the season and the defender will now miss the clash with Werder Bremen next week.

Line-ups:

Borussia Dortmund: Hitz – Can, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro – Bellingham (Schulz, 71), Delaney (Dahoud, 61) – Reyna (Moukoko, 61), Brandt (Reus, 61), Sancho – Haaland

TSG Hoffenheim: Baumann – Posch, Grillitsch, Vogt – Kadeřábek (Gaćinović, 64), Rudy, Samassékou, John – Baumgartner – Bebou, Dabbur (Skov, 88)

Goals: 1-0 Sancho (24), 1-1 Dabbur (31), 1-2 Bebou (51), 2-2 Haaland (81)
