Rudy: "We need to keep working hard"

Here's what the players and coaches had to say after the 0-0 draw against Arminia Bielefeld.

Sebastian Rudy: "We didn't create compelling goalscoring chances in the second half and we no longer played with as much purpose. It was a solid performance from us, however, especially in the first half. We created lots of chances then. We didn't give much away at the back. That's a small progression. It's not going to get any easier for us. We need to accept the situation and keep working hard on ourselves. It was a step in the right direction."

Munas Dabbur: "Sometimes you simply need luck in those moments in front of goal. It's not an easy situation; you get times like that in football. But we're convinced we'll come out of it."

Ihlas Bebou: "It's certainly a pity that we didn't win the game. Things went well in the first half, but we missed the opportunity to score a goal. In the end we have to accept the point, because Arminia Bielefeld had chances of their own in the closing stages. We need to be more consistent in the final third; that's how we'll get back to scoring more goals. We'd obviously envisaged ourselves being elsewhere in the table, but we'll get out of the situation. We know what we're capable of and we don't doubt ourselves."

Stefan Posch: "If we want to take something positive away from this, it's the fact that we didn't concede a goal. We find ourselves in a difficult situation. We all need to pull together; then it'll get better again. Of course, there are a lot of absentees that we have to contend with. We took a step forward today, but there's still room for improvement."

Sebastian Hoeness: "Our story has been one of lots of injuries. The situation is mentally challenging of course, but I wouldn't label it a mental problem. What we're missing right now are good results. We're not satisfied with the result or with the performance in the final 30 minutes. We're not able to produce a spectacle at the moment. It was better in the opening 60 minutes; we had more of the chances and didn't let Bielefeld near our goal. We didn't quite have enough in the final third to win the match."

Uwe Neuhaus (Arminia Bielefeld coach): "It's a deserved point in my view. I wasn't so satisfied in the opening stages. Hoffenheim had a big opportunity where Ortega reacted well. It got better in the second half. We worked well; in the closing stages, we had lots of space going forward and had shooting opportunities as well."
