Grillitsch: "We know that we can get something"

Florian Grillitsch has been out of action with a stomach muscle injury since Matchday 13. The Austria international has been working hard towards his comeback in the past few weeks and returned to the training pitch this week. Prior to the match against FC Bayern Munich (Saturday at 15:30 CET), the midfielder spoke to tsg-hoffenheim.de about his injury, his chances of playing a part at the weekend and his hopes of TSG getting a result in Bavaria.

Flo, how are you doing after your injury?

"I'm feeling good again. Unfortunately, it took slightly longer than I'd been expecting. Unfortunately, a stomach muscle injury hurts a lot even when breathing. But I've been back in team training since Wednesday."

Is there a chance that you could make your comeback against FC Bayern on Saturday?

"We'll have to see how I cope with the team training sessions. I worked hard during my spell on the sidelines and was able to go running, but I was limited to some extent because I experienced pain in my upper body whenever there was any rotation. I hope that I haven't lost too much fitness and I want to help the team as soon as possible. We'll see whether I can make the Bayern game."

Regardless of whether you can play or not, what kind of game are you expecting?

"It is always a special match against Bayern. We have actually had a good record against them in recent years. For that reason, I believe that something is possible. We'll need to have a top day and Bayern will have to make mistakes as well. Otherwise, there is obviously a difference in quality. But we know that we can get something. To make that happen, everyone will need to play to their limit."

Recently, FC Bayern have not dominated their games the way they did last year. Do you think that improves your chances?

"They've still managed to win games, even if they didn't produce their best performances. That's why they're up there every year. That sets them apart. They've had a lot of games over the course of the past few months and hardly any breaks, but I don't think that makes it any easier for us. It's always difficult against Bayern."
