Baumann: "We're hugely relieved"

Here's what the players, Sebastian Hoeness and Alexander Rosen had to say after TSG Hoffenheim won 3-0 at Hertha BSC.

Sebastian Rudy: "Today we got the reward for our hard work in the last few weeks. After the penalty save, we were alert and settled into the game well. In addition, we also had that little bit of luck you need in front of goal today. We need to accept the way things are and give everything we have with the players that are available."

Christoph Baumgartner: "We're very happy. The past few weeks obviously haven't been easy. But today we worked very well and, above all, took our chances perfectly. That has been our biggest problem in our recent matches. Of course, there was an element of luck for us with the first goal. But I think that when you work hard, you earn yourselves a bit of luck. The first half of the season has been anything but easy for us. But we won today and now we're back. The next games are already coming up soon, so we have hardly any time to reflect on it and immediately need to turn our focus to the tasks we have on the horizon. I'm very confident we'll perform better in the second half of the season."

Oliver Baumann: "We're obviously very relieved. We're absolutely delighted with the win. We didn't make the ideal start to the match and had the penalty awarded against us. Strangely enough, things got better after that. It was very important today. We're very happy about the three points. For the penalty, I obviously made a guess and I'm happy that it worked out. It hasn't been an easy first half of the season. We have too few points. You can see from the lads that the long training weeks do us good. We need to have a better second half of the season.

Sebastian Hoeness: "We're obviously very happy with the victory. For once, the game went our way. We were still in the game thanks to the penalty save. We didn't produce a good performance on the ball in the first half. Aside from the penalty, we defended very well and with great discipline. That has to be the foundation for us. In spells like this, results are the only way you regain your self-confidence. We need points and successful experiences. We got both today. We were effective; we'll take that."

Alexander Rosen: "It was a dedicated, battling display from our team. Finally, a game went our way. Oli saved the penalty and we took our first chance to take the lead. I'm proud of the lads and of the club. This triumph says a lot about our solidarity. We knew very well what a dramatic situation we had in November. Ten players were in quarantine at the same time. We never complained, but we did have a huge fight on our hands."
