Leipzig: Defensively strong but inconsistent on the road

Three days after visiting Bayer 04 Leverkusen, TSG Hoffenheim are set to take on another top team on Wednesday (20:30 CET) when they welcome RB Leipzig to the PreZero Arena. tsg-hoffenheim has all the facts and figures you need to know ahead of #TSGRBL below.

Did you know that…

…Leipzig have the Bundesliga's best defence?

RB shot-stopper Peter Gulácsi has conceded only nine goals in 11 games – the best record in the division. To put that into perspective, Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been beaten 17 times this season.

…three TSG players are missing through suspension?

Both Florian Grillitsch and Stefan Posch received red cards for two bookable offences against Leverkusen in the last round and will serve their suspensions against Leipzig. In addition, Dennis Geiger is serving the last game of his suspension following his dismissal against Mainz 05.

…Hoffenheim have not tasted victory against Leipzig in two and a half years?

TSG claimed a 5-2 win in Leipzig on 21 April 2018 to take a big step towards wrapping up qualification for the Champions League. Since then, however, Hoffenheim have not won a single game against the side from Saxony and have lost four of their five meetings.

…Leipzig have recently struggled on the road?

While Julian Nagelsmann's team have won all nine of their competitive matches at home this season, they have only managed to pick up one win in their last six away games (two draws and three defeats).
