Baumann: ''This is a piece of history''

Here's what the players and coaches had to say after the 0-0 draw away to Red Star Belgrade.

Oliver Baumann: ''This is a piece of history. We're all happy that we've managed it. We did a great job throughout the group stage. We had a lot of chances to score today, but we were also able to effectively manage the risk and secure the group win in brilliant fashion. Now we want to demonstrate our defensive stability against Augsburg on Monday.''

Sebastian Rudy: ''We were of course aware that a draw would be enough to win the group. Having said that, we still wanted to win the game, and that's what we tried to do. But we weren't going to take any risks towards the end. That's how we kept the clean sheet and secured our place at the top of the group. Our opponents didn't make it easy for us, they looked to hit us on the counter. We had to have our wits about us. The Red Star goalkeeper made three or four good saves. That made life difficult for us. Looking ahead, we have to carry the momentum from the positive experience of winning the group and use it to help us finally get a win in the Bundesliga.''

Sebastian Hoeness: ''In the first half, we were able to keep any pressure away from our goal and not allow any big chances. On the other hand, we weren't able to create any good chances ourselves. We were a bit too sloppy and erratic in the final third. We were lacking that killer instinct, which meant we went in at the break with the score at 0-0. We were more ambitious in the second half and were able to create more good chances, which we unfortunately weren't able to capitalise on. Our main objective for today was winning the group, and that's what we managed to do.''
