Baumann fined by the DFB

The Sports Court of the German Football Federation (DFB) has fined TSG first team player Oliver Baumann €8,000 in simplified proceedings after the DFB Control Committee filed charges for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The DFB stated the following grounds for its decision: "Baumann made the following statement in a television interview after the end of the game 'it is very bitter to have played against 12'. The statement by Baumann constitutes unsportsmanlike conduct (...), as he called into question the impartiality of the referee. (…) As the licensed player Baumann has not previously appeared before the Sports Court, has admitted to making the comments and has apologised for them, the DFB Control Committee only requests a fine of €8,000 in the summary proceedings."

Oliver Baumann agreed to the verdict. It is therefore legally binding.
