TSG to wear special ''Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region'' jersey against VfB

TSG will wear a special ''Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region'' jersey for the Bundesliga home game against VfB Stuttgart on 21 November 2020 (Saturday, 15:30 CET). With the ''Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region'' logo on the front of the players' jerseys for the Baden-Swabian derby, the Bundesliga club will express its close connection and strong ties with its local region.

TSG main sponsor SAP facilitated the change of jersey. The Walldorf-based software company - the largest in Europe - is involved in regional development and decided to replace its own logo on the players' jerseys in favour of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region logo for TSG's game on Matchday 8 of the Bundesliga. "At SAP, we want to help promote the virtues of our region throughout Germany," explains Luka Mucic, CFO of SAP SE and board member of the Future of the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region Association. "We want to use this special jersey to showcase our region. This is an important step in our efforts to show people, particularly young skilled workers, how attractive the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region can be as a centre for living and working." Back in 2015, SAP also agreed to forego its logo to promote the metropolitan region for the derby against VfB Stuttgart.

TSG managing director Denni Strich had the following words to say: ''As a club we are firmly rooted in the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region. We are grateful to be able to represent our home by wearing this special jersey. Everyone in the region can profit from one another - citizens, local authorities, businesses and associations. The current Coronavirus situation has demonstrated how important it is to have strong local roots. With our successful 'TSG helps' initiative, we have already sent out a message, and now the special jersey should reinforce this: We at TSG are proud of our home.''

The Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, with approximately 2.4 million inhabitants across three federal states, is home to many successful companies, universities and cultural institutions as well as towns and communities with a high quality of life. The Rhine-Neckar region is characterised by first-class sport, awe-inspiring nature, a colourful cultural scene as well as attractive employment opportunities in business, administration, research and teaching.
