''TSG helps'' offers support to more clubs in the region

The non-profit organisation "TSG helps" - founded by Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim - has supported a further 26 clubs in the extended Rhine-Neckar region in a fifth round of donations. This brings the total number of clubs and social institutions to have received financial assistance since the initiative was founded in March to 234.

The project continues to generate a large response from clubs that have run into difficulties as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. The support fund was set up by TSG Hoffenheim in March. The Bundesliga football club feel impelled to live up to their guiding principles by assuming social responsibility and helping others, especially in a crisis.

The letters of thanks demonstrate how necessary and important initiatives like "TSG helps" are during this time. "This is really great and helps us so so much in the current situation! Many, many, many thanks", writes Thomas Walter from Spielvereinigung 07 Mannheim e.V., one of the clubs whose application for support was successful in the current round. "I am speechless and very grateful. Many thanks for the quick and uncomplicated help in this situation, which is not easy for all clubs," Rüdiger Dingeldey of TSG 1882 Wixhausen e.V. told the committee, which, independently of TSG Hoffenheim, allocates donations after checking the level of need and the intended use.

"When I read your message, I had to check several times to make sure I was indeed reading correctly. We are very happy about this unexpected, but very, very important financial blessing", said Gabriele Christ from the Stadtkapelle Hockenheim orchestral association. "TSG helps" does not just help football or other sports clubs; support is also offered to music groups. "From the bottom of our hearts, we say a thousand thanks for this wonderful support, which is enormously important for us and a great expression of solidarity with the clubs in the region", wrote Peter Gaude from the Stadtkapelle Sinsheim e. V. A total of 143 football clubs, 41 clubs in other sports, 34 music groups, six children's facilities and ten social and environmental projects have been supported by TSG Hoffenheim over the past nine months.

"We are happy and proud to be able to contribute to the preservation of a lively club culture in this way," says TSG managing director Denni Strich. "It fills us with gratitude to know that our engagement is so well received and appreciated by the clubs in our home region."

The support fund is made up of salary waivers by TSG Hoffenheim's Bundesliga first team, the coaching and support team and club management, as well as donations from partners, fans, the youth teams and individuals. The ''TSG helps'' project will continue for the foreseeable future.
