Rudy: "We need to be on high alert from the first minute"

Here's what the players had to say after the 2-1 defeat at VfL Wolfsburg.

Sebastian Rudy: "We were not alert in the first 30 minutes. We could've made it much more difficult for the opposition to score goals. We then came back into it in the second half, although we didn't succeed in pulling a goal back until the 87th minute. We also created enough opportunities to score. We have to take the blame ourselves for the fact we lost the game today. Our negative run is frustrating. In the past few games, we've often had these periods in which we've not been focused on the pitch. We also covered a lot of ground today, but we simply need to be on high alert in the decisive situations  from the first minute  and cannot give anything away."

Sargis Adamyan: "Unfortunately, we didn't take our big chance to make it 2-2. It can happen that you sometimes miss penalties. We're going home frustrated. We had our opportunities. If we'd made it 2-1 slightly earlier, there would've been a greater chance to make a comeback. We need to show focus from the start of the match and defend better; then we'll start getting points on the board in the Bundesliga again."

Oliver Baumann: "We're frustrated with ourselves for the first 30 minutes. We played well in the second half. It was very wild and not easy today. The defeat is very frustrating. We had no control in the opening minutes. Our current points tally definitely does not match our aims. We need to focus on ourselves again now."
