TSG Hoffenheim enter partnership with the Climate Arena

TSG Hoffenheim have concluded a partnership agreement with the Climate Arena in Sinsheim. The agreement was signed by Kristian Baumgärtner, TSG's deputy chairman, and Dr. Bernd Welz, chairman of the Climate Foundation for Citizens.

The partnership will consist of joint projects and activities, such as the TSG academy teams (from U12 to U15 level) going to the Climate Arena for annual visits. These visits will include workshops in which the team coaches and support staff will also take part. In future, selected players from these teams will also act as ambassadors for the Climate Arena.

Inaugurated by German chancellor Angela Merkel in October 2019, the institution provides educational information on the effects of climate change and resource depletion. The Climate Arena also offers players from the more senior TSG academy teams the opportunity to take up work placements, which are often a compulsory part of their academic studies. 17-year-old Florian Bähr, part of the TSG U19 squad, is currently spending one day a week on work placement at the institution.

The TSG staff members who coach and support the U12, U13, U14 and U15 teams will be given the opportunity to use the premises of the Climate Arena for their annual conference. It is hoped that other coaches, support staff and employees of the TSG academy will also visit the Climate Arena, for example as part of business outings.

Furthermore, as part of their partnership agreement, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and the Klima Arena have set a common goal of raising awareness for climate and environmental protection as well as motivating people to take action.
