TSG to face Mainz & Wehen Wiesbaden in friendlies

TSG Hoffenheim have scheduled their first friendlies ahead of the 2020/21 season. They will face Wehen Wiesbaden, who were relegated from the second tier this term, on 13 August, before Bundesliga rivals Mainz 05 visit the Kraichgau on 29 August.

With the TSG senior squad set to return to training in a few days, the club have finalised several pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2020/21 season. TSG Hoffenheim will first face third-tier outfit SV Wehen Wiesbaden at the FC Zuzenhausen training complex on 13 August (Thursday, 15:30 CET), before taking on 1. FSV Mainz 05 around two weeks later (Saturday 29 August). The friendly against the Zero-Fivers will actually be a double-header played over two lots of 90 minutes the first at 13:00 CET and the second at 15:30 CET.

Unfortunately, all friendlies must take place behind closed doors on account of the coronavirus.

The pre-season schedule at a glance:

3 August: First performance tests

5 August: First team training session

13 August: Friendly against Wehen Wiesbaden (15:30 CET)

16–23 August: Training camp in Rottach-Egern (Tegernsee) including additional friendlies (planning under way)

29 August: Two friendlies against 1. FSV Mainz 05 (13:00 CET/15:30 CET)

11–14 September: DFB Cup First Round

18–20 September: Bundesliga Matchday 1
