TSG in Cologne on opening day

The German Football League (DFL) has announced the fixture calendar for the 2020/21 Bundesliga season. Matchday 1 sees TSG Hoffenheim visit 1. FC Cologne in mid-September, before welcoming FC Bayern Munich to the PreZero Arena for their first home game of the campaign a week later.

Opening day in the Cathedral City: TSG Hoffenheim will visit 1. FC Cologne on Matchday 1 in what will be Sebastian Hoeness' first Bundesliga game as TSG coach. The new Hoffenheim boss will then be reunited with his former employers, record champions Bayern Munich, who will visit the PreZero Arena a week later.

TSG will round off the calendar year with a Matchday 13 trip to Borussia Mönchengladbach and resume action in 2021 with a Baden derby against SC Freiburg (2-4 January). They will then close out the season at home to Hertha BSC on 22 May 2021. The fixture dates will be announced in stages by the DFL throughout the season.

"As in previous years, our opening fixtures are challenging and, of course, the first two home games of the season against Bayern and Dortmund would've been great days out for our fans. With that in mind, it's a pity we won't be able to play these top teams at the PreZero Arena at a later date and potentially with more spectators. On the other hand, such a start to the season will immediately sharpen our senses and we'll approach every game with maximum ambition, regardless of the opponent," said director of football Alexander Rosen.
