Successful start to training camp at Lake Tegernsee

Since Sunday, TSG Hoffenheim have been at Lake Tegernsee to continue their preparations for the 2020/21 season. The week-long training camp in Upper Bavaria, which will combine some intense training sessions and two friendly fixtures, has got off to a successful start.

Following a yoga session on Sunday evening, head coach Sebastian Hoeness gathered his squad on the training pitch on Monday. Twenty-eight players took part in the morning session; Philipp Pentke trained individually and Ishak Belfodil missed out due to an insect bite.

Hoeness was satisfied with the first session. "The first impressions are very positive and pleasant. We want to use the setting to train together," said the head coach. The programme kicked off with an approximately 20-minute session in the weight room, which has been set up in a tent next to the training pitch for the duration of TSG's stay. The players then made their way onto the top-quality pitch.

The squad divided into groups for several passing exercises and drills. "Fundamentally, it's all about training hard, having fun, developing a good spirit and working on our fitness," said Hoeness as he outlined the objectives for the coming days.

As part of their preparations for the 2020/21 season, TSG Hoffenheim will be in Rottach-Egern at Lake Tegernsee until Sunday (23 August). TSG will play two friendlies during the training camp: they will take on second-division outfit SpVgg Greuther Fürth on Saturday (13:00 CET), while the opponent and date for the second fixture have not yet been decided.
