Schreuder: "The team doesn't let itself get distracted"

At the press conference prior to the Bundesliga match away at Fortuna Düsseldorf (Saturday at 15:30 CET/Live Ticker at achtzehn99.de), head coach Alfred Schreuder spoke about the opposition, the current standings and the personnel situation.

Alfred Schreuder on…

…Fortuna Düsseldorf: "It makes more sense to look at how the opposing team is performing on the pitch, rather than where they are in the table. They played very well before the match against FC Bayern. They should've won against Paderborn and in Cologne; they managed to do so against Schalke. They play with a lot of energy. Our lads know that it's not going to be easy. Düsseldorf have a style that is very aggressive – but never beyond the limits of fair play. They have performed very well over the past few weeks."

…the personnel situation: "Andrej Kramarić has completed several sessions with the team this week. All being well, he'll be included in the squad on Saturday. Sargis Adamyan is also making progress, although with him it could be the case that he doesn't play again this season. Benjamin Hübner, Florian Grillitsch and Pavel Kadeřábek, who all had to miss the Mainz match, will be able to play again. Unfortunately, Jacob Bruun Larsen is doubtful."

…the current standings: "The team doesn't let itself get distracted, whether they have won or lost. We analyse the matches and then speak with the lads about it. The wins have given the lads more confidence. But we're not playing VfL Wolfsburg, our rivals for Europe, on Saturday; we're playing Fortuna Düsseldorf."

…the reasons behind the recent victories: "Our chance conversion has been better in our recent games. We didn't take our opportunities against Hertha and in Paderborn, but we did against Cologne and in Mainz. That's sometimes impossible to explain. The lads are giving off a super vibe and showing that they really want to win every game."

Head-to-head record:

This will be the sixth time that the two teams have gone up against each other in the Bundesliga. The head-to-head record is even, with a win apiece and three draws. The reverse fixture ended 1-1, which has been the scoreline in three previous meetings.

The opposition's form:

The 5-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich was the first time coach Uwe Rösler's charges have lost since Matchday 22. With five matches to go, Düsseldorf are currently in 16th place on 27 points.
