Schreuder: "I'm proud of the lads"

There was a great atmosphere after the home win against Bayer Leverkusen. Here's what the players and coaches had to say about the end-to-end encounter.

Robert Skov: "It looks as though we know how to beat the big teams. We've managed it once again. But we had to work very hard for it. It was a really good match. And Philipp produced an excellent performance in goal. For me, it was lovely to be back in action after my injury. The fact that I scored a goal was obviously perfect."

Philipp Pentke: "It was a high-quality and really intense match. I can't remember ever experiencing quite such a varied game. It was outstanding for the spectators and for our team too. We reacted superbly after going 1-0 down. The game was like a boxing match, both teams were going for it. There were a lot of chances at both ends. Thankfully we scored one goal more. It's nice I could make a contribution to it. We have big ambitions for the coming weeks."

Sargis Adamyan: "That was a really strong performance from us. We all fought until the last moment. Congratulations to the team; they all did superbly."

Benjamin Hübner: "It was end to end. The spectators can be really satisfied with the match and with us. Philipp Pentke was our standout player with some super saves. It's unbelievable how well we're doing against the big teams, but I'd like to be winning against the others too. In our cup tie away to Bayern, we want to continue where we left off in the Bundesliga match there. We showed what we're capable of that day."

Alfred Schreuder: "We started very well and immediately had a big opportunity to go 1-0 ahead. We wanted to do things differently to the past few matches. The lads showed a lot of courage. After going 1-0 ahead, Leverkusen had the better chances in the first half. The team showed great passion. I'm very proud of the lads."

Peter Bosz (Bayer Leverkusen coach): "I have to congratulate Hoffenheim. The win was justified in the end. We performed very poorly at the end. That was unnecessary from us. Hoffenheim started very brightly and were the better team. We had the game under control after going 1-0 ahead. Unfortunately, we only scored one goal. If you want to compete at the top, you need to score more goals. We didn't manage that. We defended too poorly and Hoffenheim did well."
