TSG come from behind to beat Dortmund

What a match! It looked for much of the evening as if TSG Hoffenheim would lose to Borussia Dortmund, but two late goals from Sargis Adamyan and Andrej Kramarić turned the game on its head and handed the hosts a 2-1 (0-1) victory. The win means TSG finish the first half of the season with 27 points.

Personnel & tactics:

Christoph Baumgartner and Håvard Nordtveit, who made a vital contribution to the 2-0 away win over Union Berlin in midweek with a goal and an assist respectively, were rewarded with a starting berth against Borussia Dortmund three days later. Dennis Geiger was the other player to return to the starting XI.

Goalkeeper Oliver Baumann was protected by a back four of Sebastian Rudy (right-back), Benjamin Hübner and Nordtveit at the heart of defence, and Robert Skov (left-back). Geiger played alongside Florian Grillitsch and Diadie Samassékou in midfield, with Baumgartner, Kramarić and Bebou the attacking triumvirate.

Alfred Schreuder opted to shuffle his pack for the first time at the interval with Samassékou making way for Sargis Adamyan. The Armenian slotted in up front and Baumgartner dropped back into midfield. Another attack-minded change came in the 65th minute as Jürgen Locadia replaced Geiger. Kramarić subsequently played a slightly deeper role. Pavel Kadeřábek then came on for Baumgartner, who was carrying a knock, in the 78th minute. Rudy took the Austrian's place in midfield and Kadeřábek played on the right of defence.

Moment of the match:

The winner: Having played the ball into the path of Adamyan, Kramarić raced into the box to meet his cross with a stooping header that crept into the bottom corner of the goal.

The 2-1 victory saw TSG Hoffenheim extend their home unbeaten run against Borussia Dortmund to seven Bundesliga matches.
