Rudy: "There was a lot missing"
Oliver Baumann: "We went forward well and often, but the ball didn't want to go in. That can happen. We obviously cannot be satisfied, even if a few statistics do reflect well on us. The most important statistic went in Freiburg's favour. It's very bitter and a shame. It's been uphill over the course of the past few weeks, but today I had the feeling that something that missing."
Kevin Vogt: "Freiburg were much more efficient today. We were too careless in front of goal, whereas Freiburg were clinical. Today we were lacking the desire to defend the goal come hell or high water, something that made us stand out in Leverkusen. If we don't get things right as a collective, it'll be difficult against any opponent and then you can lose 3-0 at home to Freiburg. We could've played an extra half-hour today and it still wouldn't have worked for us. I won't try to talk up the performance, but I won't let myself descend into a state of panic either.
Sebastian Rudy: "We showed no penetration today, we were missing a lot in the final third. We were either too imprecise or we held onto the ball for too long. We were missing a lot of things, we need to analyse that together and then improve. We know what we're capable of. We won't let ourselves deviate from our path."
Head coach Alfred Schreuder: "Congratulations to SC Freiburg. That was deserved. We didn't perform well. We were lacking the necessary bite and sharpness. The spaces were there but we didn't use them. We had enough chances but we couldn't convert them. We want to put the game behind us."
Christian Streich (SC Freiburg coach): "We looked confident on the ball today and put in a good performance. We deserved to win. That said, the game unfolded in a favourable way for us and Alexander Schwolow saved a few Hoffenheim shots."
