Hübner: "We simply need to score goals"

Here are the player and coach reactions to the 3-0 defeat by Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Benjamin Hübner: "It's disappointing to some extent. I don't necessarily think the scoreline reflects the balance of play. We managed to carve out some real high-quality chances. But football often goes like that: if you don't take your chances, then you'll get punished for it. We conceded goals far too easily today. We simply need to score goals. We were missing a few players, but that's no excuse. I think that if we keep playing as we have been, we'll get the rub of the green eventually."

Robert Skov: "It's a disappointing feeling. We had our opportunities but in the end we leave with no points. We worked hard and had a lot of chances to equalise, especially at the beginning of the second half. Had we done so, I believe the match would've been very different. But in the end it's a 3-0 defeat and that's obviously not good enough. It was an even match. But in contrast to us, they took their chances. We need to work on that."

Christoph Baumgartner: "It's difficult to explain. We created some superb chances and were the better team until going 1-0 behind. We should've scored in the opening stages. I myself had two good chances. But we're not managing to keep teams out for long spells or taking our chances. We actually had the match under control. If we take our chances in the future and defend more consistently, I'm confident we'll get the desired results."

Sebastian Rudy: "Again, it looks worse than it actually was. Everyone could see what a good performance we put in in the first half with some huge chances, but once again we didn't put the ball in the net. That's frustrating. The margin of victory wasn't deserved; we could've scored two or three goals ourselves. But we need to be able to score goals from just a few chances, even if we don't win pretty. Then everything will seem different."

Oliver Baumann: "You need to be able to come to terms with the result. It's obviously a very difficult situation. You need to keep your cool and keep doing what you've been doing, if even if hasn't brought you much success. At the moment we're not having much luck and we're struggling in front of goal too. But we need to keep believing in what we're doing. I remain convinced of that."

Alfred Schreuder: "I'm very proud of the lads. That might sound strange but that was exactly the kind of football we want to play. We created a great deal of chances but simply didn't convert them. Defensively too, we were decent until the second goal. The team is developing. We need to be finding the net up top. We have to work on that. We need to keep our composure. The team needs time."

Marco Rose (Borussia Mönchengladbach coach): "We're obviously very happy today. We've improved our points tally in a period in which we're trying a slightly new approach. It was a difficult match. It was very open in the first half with lots of errors. There were many opportunities for us after we took the lead. But there are also some things we want to improve on."
