Schreuder: "We showed incredible mentality"

Here are the reactions from the players and coaches after the spectacular 3-2 win against Werder Bremen.

Ihlas Bebou: "The first half was difficult. We then conceded a goal shortly before the interval. After that, we tried to improve the way we occupied the spaces and our performance got better. As a result, we deserved to go on to win the match. It was a super feeling to score the goal. I always try to help the team to victory with my goals."

Ermin Bičakčić: "The team showed good spirit after going 1-0 down. We had more of the match, showed great desire in our performance and then gave the game our all again once it was level at 2-2. That's another reason why we deserved to win, even if we didn't create many clear chances. We need to improve in that regard in the future. What was important above all though was to win. Everything else we can work on."

Kevin Vogt: "We still have a lot of work to do. In the first half in particular we had a lot of the ball but we need to be more forceful in the final third. We need to work on that. And then we hope we'll be able to up our game a level or two in Leverkusen next week."

Christoph Baumgartner: "I was delighted to be included in the starting XI after my suspension. I think that we're getting better with each passing week and that we'll get enough points to achieve our objectives. Everyone could sense that we absolutely wanted to win. That worked out for us and it's also a sign of the good spirit that we have in the team. We had a lot of control over the match and we've boosted our self-confidence. I'm sure that we'll be able to get something out of the game in Leverkusen too."

Florian Kohfeldt (SV Werder Bremen coach): "Congratulations to TSG. There are 1,000 different stories to take from this game. First of all, I'd like to pay my team a big compliment. We put in a good away performance, had a lot of chances and gave away little. Obviously, we were not good enough at defending set-pieces. It's difficult when you concede two goals from a corner. Nonetheless, a win was within reach. Big compliment to the lads. I'm sure that we'll get our reward in the near future. Today we were up against a team that's good at home."

Alfred Schreuder: "I'm obviously very happy. The victory is important for us. In the first period, we created nowhere near enough opportunities. We didn't use the spaces that were available. Things then got better in the second half. After the red card, we should've seen the match through better. But we didn't do that. I said to the lads that it was our worst day of the week with the ball. The mentality of the team was unbelievable. We were superb when it came to attacking set-pieces, but we looked vulnerable from defensives ones too."
